What is cosplay to you?

I never did one but I want to. I'm thinking of going as Crocodiles from One Piece. But to me Cosplaying is just pure FUN and you get to hang out with other people who are interested in the same thing you are, without worrying if people are gonna call you a ''nerd'' or ''geek'' and crap. But why do you like it and would you like to go to a convention in a cosplay?
