Shouldn't she be getting better after almost 4 days of antibiotics? please read?

I took my 2 year old to my doctor wednesday because her pediatrician was on vacation. She was running over 101 fever and grabbing her throat telling me it hurt, a little cough and runny/congested nose. The congestion and cough were/are not much at all. The doctor said her throat looked red, irritated, and had a few yellow pus pockets on it. He put her on amoxicillin 2 x daily for 10 days. He did not swab her throat for strep, which I think her pediatrician would have done since she just had strep less than 1 month ago. We are on day 4 today of her meds and she's still running over a 101 fever, and has been spending most of the weekend in her daddy's lap not feeling well. The anitibiotics she's on will treat strep if she had it, but yet she doesn't seem to be a lot better. I am thinking of taking her to her pediatrician tomorrow because I don't know what else to do at this point. Shouldn't she be better by now with antibiotics?
