What do i need to buy so I can make things happen wirelessly from a controller?

Alright, i have several things that do stuff. I want them to do the stuff whenever i push a on on a controller like i would do with r/c stuff. Like you know those tiny motors. I want them to start when I push a on on a controller, the controller has to be wireless from the motors and stuff. I need to know what to buy and what i need to program a on to when i push it, something happens wirelessly on the object i am controlling. Sorry for being so illiterate, I dont know what I need so i cannot be specific. Thanks for your help.
