Should I tell him over the Internet or in person?

Okay so I like this guy and he likes me. In band today i asked my best friend to ask him to come out at recess today. At recess he asked me why I wanted him to come outside. I told him to come on MSN and I would tell him. I have been on MSN all afternoon and he has been idle the whole time. I wanted him to come out because I wanted to know if he still liked me...but then in gym he sat with me and he totally showed that he he still likes me. Now I don't know if I should tell him that in person or over the Internet...please help:S
